Read About

With 35 years of experience, Nurse Practitioner Vivian Franklin combines her knowledge, prowess, and expertise to help patients confidently and successfully recover from their wounds.

Prior to attending Emory University in Atlanta, GA, in 1992, Vivian encountered diabetic patients at risk of losing their leg due to foot ulcers. After recognizing that these patients had nowhere to go to treat their wounds after their hospital stay, Vivian and a colleague started an outpatient wound center at a local hospital. Together, they brought their dream to fruition in 2000, and Vivian was a part of that practice for 15 years.

In July 2015, Vivian opened her own practice, the Wound Care Center at Glasgow, and today treats patients throughout South Central Kentucky and North Tennessee.

Vivian is an honor graduate from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY, and Emory University in Atlanta GA. She is a Certified Wound, Ostomy, Continence Nurse Practitioner and is married to Wendell, whom she calls her biggest supporter. Some of her hobbies include crafting, beach vacations and watching University of Kentucky basketball.

She has a “favorite and only son”, Tyler and a lovely daughter-in-law, Kyla as well as 2 grandchildren that she cherishes along with 1 dog and 1 grand dog. You will often hear her talk about stepping out on faith when she opened Wound Care Center at Glasgow and how grateful she is for each person that passes through the clinic door. Realizing people have a choice in their health care, she is humbled when they choose her and her staff.

Vivian has experience in treating complicated wounds of all types and consistently has a healing rate far above the national average. She says she knows her parents are looking down on her and always wants to make them proud in everything she does. Vivian says her faith tells her to do all things “well and in order”. She leaves no stone unturned in caring for her patients whom she calls her friends. Wound care is her passion.
